So why Rubberbandboy.com?

One thing that Mitchel enjoys doing is collecting rubber bands and adding them to a rubber band ball that he has created.  For a child that seems to shake when idle or nervous, the rubber band ball has been a great outlet for Mitchel.  He will spend hours adding his multi colored rubber bands to his ball.  While Mitchel is working on his rubber band ball his tics are minimized because his focus is primarily on the ball. This is something he has enjoyed doing the past couple of months and we are very supportive of his interest.

What would we like to see from interested visitors?

If at all possible we would love to get rubber band donations.  Mitchel is a loving child and his desire is to create the Worlds largest rubber band ball. This will be a tough task for such a young child,  but who am I to say that it can not be done.  Mitchel has the determination and passion to pursue any dream. Keep watching the site because we will be giving updates on the ball, as well as Mitchel.

    Living with Tourette's

Mitchel was 5 years old when he was diagnosed with Tourette's Syndrome. Mitchel had always been a normal healthy child up until a couple of days after returning home from our family vacation.  Now Mitchel is a healthy 6 year old child that makes funny sounds or twitches his body. These sounds and movements are called Tics, and for any person with Tourette's Syndrome it can become a real problem.  Mitchel's Tics range from head shaking to full body tremors.  Mitchel makes noises from time to time and at times has emotional outbursts. We as a family have stuck together to work through all of the good and the bad times.  And after all of the turmoil I think that we are beginning to become closer as a family.
